Section A: Defect Code 00 13 04 01 00

Procedure:

The following information is to be used when performing the work required to complete Service Action 170.

1. Defect code 00 13 04 01 00 is indicated on DCS.





2. The latest throttle housing assembly (DK motor) can be identified by an 01 in the lower right corner of the SIEMENS label located on the throttle housing assembly as indicated.





3. The throttle housing assemblies (DK motors) do not need to be removed in order to check for the presence of (1) on the label.

On the right side throttle housing assembly (DK motor), the bottom of the Siemens label can be seen by looking at the back of the throttle motor assembly.





4. On the left side throttle housing assembly (DK motor), the bottom of the label can be seen by using a small flexible mirror (1) to view the bottom of the throttle housing assembly and the bottom edge of the Siemens label.

5. If the latest versions are installed and Defect Code 00 12 08 01 00 is also displayed, continue with section B.

If the latest version(s) is not installed on a particular bank(s), install the latest version throttle housing assembly(s) on that bank(s).

6. Disconnect the Battery.





7. Disconnect the plug from throttle housing assembly.
Remove the suction hose throttle housing assembly.
Remove the four bolts from the throttle housing assembly.





8. Remove the hose clamp and remove the hose.

9. Install the new throttle, housing assembly(s) using a new gasket.
If Defect Code 00 12 08 01 00 is also displayed continue with Section B.

If no other defect code is displayed, continue with Section C and reset the EML adaptation values.
