Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor: Service and Repair

- Switch off ignition.

NOTE: Whenever the accelerator sensor (PWG) is disconnected, basic adaptation of the accelerator sensor is required. Procedure: Connect up DIS and select Diagnosis on EPC-IIIs control unit, then follow procedure set out in DIS instructions.

- Remove lower trim from instrument panel.




Location: the accelerator sensor (1) is fitted to the pedal block.




- Unscrew and remove control unit (1) from bracket.
- Unfasten screws (2) and remove bracket.




- Remove retaining disc (1) and disconnect lever.




- Unfasten plug connection (1). Unfasten screws.




Installation Note:
- Note installation position of accelerator sensor, also noting position of levers (1 and 2).

CAUTION: Lever (1) is factory-set and must not be disconnected. If the lever (1) has been removed, the entire accelerator sensor must be replaced!




Installation Note:
- Install bracket (1) with weld-in nuts.




- Check adjustment of switch.
