Replacing Right Knock Sensors (Cylinder Bank 1-6) (M73)

Remove intake air manifold for cylinder bank 1-6.
Switch off ignition.


CAUTION!
Confusing the plug connections of knock sensors gives rise to engine damage. Line routing and plug connections must match original routing to prevent any possible confusion.
Connector allocation on cable duct for engine wiring harness.







Knock sensor 1 for cylinders 1 to 3.
Unfasten screw.







Knock sensor 2 for cylinders 3 to 6.
Unfasten screw.

Interrogate fault memory of control unit on Digital Motor Electronics (DME), check fault messages in memory, rectify faults and cancel fault memory.
