Oxygen Sensor Monitoring

The DME control modules monitor the response rate of the pre catalytic converter O2 sensors. The response rate is length of time it takes for the sensor to change the swing in the signal as compared to when the DME control module changed the injection time.

If the average time of 10 closed loop cycles exceeds 7 seconds the control module will recognize this as an aging or contaminated sensor. The fault memory will store a fault and if the switching time of the sensor continues to exceed 7 seconds.
