Driveaway Protection

The drive away protection feature of the M5.2 is activated from the EWS II control module. The cancelling of the ignition and injection outputs by the DME remains the same.

The signal from the EWS control module is changed. The communication from the EWS II control module to the DME control modules is now a digital signal. The DME control modules each have a unique individual serial number (ISN). The ISN is copied from DME I and transferred to the EWS II control module. When EWS releases the DME from driveaway protection it sends the ISN to both DME control modules. DME I must recognize the ISN as valid before it cancels the drive away protection function.

DME I signals DME to cancel the driveaway protection over the CAN line.
