Checking Components Of Starting Motor (Electric Test)








Check power input of pull-in and holding windings in solenoid switch.













Check excitation winding, carbon-brush holder and open-coil armature winding for short circuit to earth.
Check armature for shorted turns - use a standard test probe.
Checking excitation winding is not necessary with permanent magnets.
