Adjusting Sun Roof

SUNROOF ADJUSTMENTS

The adjustment dimensions for all sunroof panels.

Achieving these adjusted dimensions is different for Steel and Glass Panels.

Steel Panel (except E31)

The rear height adjustment is achieved by removing each nut and screw (2) and sliding the adjustment wedge (1) in or out on the rear support (3) to achieve the correct height. A little trial and error is usually required to achieve the desired position.

Once correct, replace bolts and nuts and tighten to correct torque specification.

The front height adjustment is achieved by removing screws (1) on each forward bracket. Push the panel up or down to achieve the correct height.

Replace screws with new or use old screws coated with Loctite 270. Tighten to specification

E31 Steel Panel

The E31 steel panel is attached to the drive mechanism on each side by three nuts.

The center nut is a pivot allowing the panel to rock in the slotted mounting tabs at the front and rear.

Loosen the panel nuts slightly so the panel can be positioned into adjustment by pivoting.

Once desired adjustment is achieved, tighten screws

Glass Panel Adjustment

Glass sunroof panel adjustment is similar to the E31. The panel is attached by three screws on each side.

Using special tool 002 130, loosen screws slightly.

Move panel up or down into correct position. Tighten screws.

Glass Panel Adjustment Tool:

Special tool 00 9 315 can be used as a depth gauge when placed on the front edge of the sunroof opening.
