Replacing Output Flange

Replacing Output Flange (A5S 560Z)

- Remove output flange and radial seal, refer to "Replacing Radial Seal for Output Flange"




Note: End float is required between sprag wheel and face of output flange. End float is adjusted with help of a shim.




Calculate shim:
- Clamp transmission extension in a vise.
- Press output flange in direction of arrow.

Note: Output flange must be free.




- Calculate dimension "A" on the transmission extension.
Example: A = 42.70 mm




- Remove shim from sprag wheel.
- Press sprag wheel inwards.
- Calculate dimension "B" on transmission case.
Example: B = 45.10 mm
- Calculate dimension C
Dimension B - Dimension A = Inspection dimension C
Example: 45.10 mm - 42.70 mm = 2.40 mm
- Calculate shim D with help of inspection dimension C from table.
