TROUBLESHOOTING TABLE FOR MICROSWITCH IN EM CONVERTIBLE TOP (ELECTRIC MOTOR/SEMI-AUTOMATIC):

Test Requirements:
- Circuit diagram: refer to Electrical Diagrams.
- DIS, MoDiC or BMW SERVICE-TESTER.
- Diagnosis diskette for DIS, MODiC or BMW SERVICE-TESTER.
- Battery charged. When battery voltage is below 10.5 V the drive units are switched off by the control unit.
- Fuses in good working order.
- Ignition lock in setting "R".
- Trunk lid (S5) closed.

Open EM convertible top (semi-automatic):
Convertible top closed Actuated: S4, S5, S6
Convertible top unlocked and Actuated: S5, S6
raised over dead center point
Raise rollover bars Actuated: S1, S5, S6
Rollover bars extended Actuated: S1, S2, S5, S6
Unlock convertible top lid Actuated: S1, S2, S5
Convertible lid open (extended) Actuated: S1, S2, S5, HG
Rollover bar retracts Actuated: S1, S5
Rollover bar retracted Actuated: S5
Convertible top stowed in Actuated: S3, S5
convertible top box
Close convertible top lid Actuated: S3, S5, HG
Lock convertible top lid Actuated: S3, S5, S6

Close EM convertible top (semi-automatic):
Convertible top open Actuated: S3, S5, S6
Convertible top lid unlocked Actuated: S3, S5
Convertible lid open (extended) Actuated: S3, S5, HG
Extend convertible top Actuated: S1, S5
Roll bar extends upwards Actuated: S5
Rollover bars extended Actuated: S1, S2, S5
Close convertible top lid Actuated: S1, S2, S5, HG
Lock convertible top lid Actuated: S1, S2, S5, S6
Rollover bar retracts Actuated: S1, S5, S6
Rollover bar retracted Actuated: S5, S6
