Dashboard / Instrument Panel: Service and Repair
Removing And Installing Instrument Panel- Remove glove box. Glove Compartment
- Remove passenger airbag, if equipped. Service and Repair
- Remove plate for heating controls.
- Remove hazard warning lamp switch. Hazard Warning Switch
- Unfasten and lower steering column.
Note: It is not necessary to remove the steering column only loosen and lower it. For a guide to loosen and lowering the steering column use the steering column removal procedure.
- Remove instrument cluster.
- Vehicles with passenger airbag: Unfasten screws and remove rod (1).
- Unclip left and right A-pillar trim panels.
- Remove screws and right dashboard trim panel.
- Remove bottom trim panel screws at left side.
- Pull bottom trim panel to the side out of the clips.
- Remove shift lever cover.
- Remove rear ashtray.
- Unscrew screws and remove parking brake lever.
- Remove screws and remove center console.
- Unclip frames for left and right defroster nozzles.
- Remove outer screws on left and right.
Note:
- Remove screw with a bit-switch over ratchet (short version).
- Remove left and right screws.
- Remove instrument panel.
- Vehicles with air conditioner: Lift control unit out and disconnect plug.
