Trip Odometer Resets Itself

MODELS:
7 Series (E38), 5 Series (E39)

Situation:

The trip odometer may sporadically reset to zero after recording approximately 600 miles.

Cause:

Software error in the Integrated Instrument Cluster (IKE) Control Module.

General Information:

This problem is currently being investigated. A solution is not yet finalized.

Until a solution is available, do not replace any parts or attempt to correct this complaint.
