Idle Control

Idle Control:

The dual coil (ZWD 5), rotary actuator, idle control valve is used on the M62 engine for idle stabilization and MSR control. The valve is carried over from the M60 engine from an operational standpoint.

The valve incorporates a fixed bypass (21%) that allows the engine to idle if the valve malfunctions. The idle speed has been reduced to 550 RPM.

The operation of the idle valve is monitored for OBD II compliance.
