Mixture Control

Mixture Control:

The air/fuel ratio is monitored through the adaptive stereo lambda control. The pre-catalyst oxygen sensor's operation is similar to the M6O engine. The signal from each cylinder bank's sensor is processed separately which allows the control module to correct for minor deviations in the mixture.

The monitoring of the oxygen sensors operation has been expanded to comply with OBD II requirements. As with other M5.2 systems, the M62 - M5.2 system monitors the Oxygen sensor feedback signal and sensor heating.

The post catalyst oxygen sensors monitor the efficiency of the catalyst as on other OBD II systems.
