Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

- Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.
- Switch off ignition.




- Unfasten plug connection (1).




- Unscrew screw. Remove impulse sensor. Carefully check whether a spacer disc is fitted between the impulse sensor and the transmission case. If a spacer disc is fitted, it must be fitted again afterwards.




Installation Notes: Please note when replacing the transmission and/or the flywheel:

- The gap dimension between impulse sensor and impulse teeth on the flywheel can be measured using special tool 00 2 407.
- If the depth dimension is less than 32.1 mm, a spacer disc must be installed between impulse sensor and transmission case.
- Interrogate fault memory of control unit on Digital Engine Electronics (DME), check fault messages in memory, rectify faults and cancel fault memory.
