Electronic Throttle Control Module: Service and Repair

Note instructions on removal and installation of electronic control units. Service Precautions

- Switch off ignition.




- Unfasten screws.
- Remove cover from control unit box.




- Control unit (1) (DME 1): disconnect plug connection and remove control unit from bracket.

- Control unit (2) (DME 2): disconnect plug connection and remove control unit from bracket.

- Control unit (3) for Electronic Transmission control (EGS).

- Control unit (4) for Electronic Engine Power control (EML).




- Unfasten plug connection from all control units.
- Remove control unit (4) from bracket.
- Interrogate fault memory of control unit for Digital Motor Electronics (DME), check error messages in memory, rectify faults and clear fault memory.
