Replacing Impulse Sensor (Cylinder Bank 1-6)

- Remove DME control unit fault memory.
- Switch off ignition.
- Remove rear splash guard.




- Disconnect plug connection of impulse sensor on crankshaft (flywheel) for the DME 1 (cylinder 1-6).




- Unscrew screw. Remove impulse sensor. Ensure that a spacer is fitted between the transmission case and the impulse sensor. If a spacer disc is fitted, this must be reinstalled.




Installation Note:
- Note when replacing the transmission and/or flywheel:
- Using special tool 00 2 407, the gap between impulse sensor and impulse teeth on flywheel must be determined.
- If the depth dimension is less than 32.1 mm, a spacer disc must be installed between impulse sensor and transmission case.
- Interrogate fault memory of control unit on Digital Engine Electronics (DME), check fault messages in memory, rectify faults and cancel fault memory.
