Replacing Impulse Sensor (Cylinder Bank 7-12)
- Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.- Switch off ignition.
- Remove rear splash guard.
- Disconnect plug connection on impulse sensor on crankshaft (flywheel) for DME 2 (cylinder 7-12).
- Unscrew screw. Remove impulse sensor. Ensure that a spacer is fitted between the transmission case and the impulse sensor. If a spacer disc is fitted, this must be reinstalled.
Installation Notes:
- Note when replacing the transmission and/or flywheel:
- Using special tool 00 2 407, the gap between impulse sensor and impulse teeth on flywheel must be determined.
- If the depth dimension is less than 32.1 mm, a spacer disc must be installed between impulse sensor and transmission case.
- Interrogate fault memory of control unit on Digital Engine Electronics (DME), check fault messages in memory, rectify faults and cancel fault memory.
