Removing and Installing/Replacing Door Lock On Left or Right Back Door







Removing rear door window,



Lift off rubber part and unscrew screws.







Unscrew guide rail screw at rear top and push the guide rail aside slightly.







Unscrew screws, lift internal lock activator out towards rear and detach the linkage.







Unscrew linkage and unclip guide clips.

Installation:
Clip in guide clips of locking linkage correctly.







Disconnect central lock wire.
Unscrew bolts.

Installation:
Install screws with Loctite 270, (Sourcing Reference: BMW Parts Service).

Tightening torque,

Rear Door Locks:

Pull off plug and remove door lock.

Only replace:
Lift out locking device and remove actuator drive from central locking unit.

Installation:
Check function.
