Removing and Installing Instrument Carrier
- Remove steering wheel.
- Unscrew screws and lift out instrument cluster upwards slightly and pull forward as far as steering column.
CAUTION: Place cleaning rags on steering column to avoid scratches in glass of instrument carrier.
- Push levers on connectors forward and take out connectors.
Installation:
- When inserting a connector, lever must be in forward position. Recode instrument carrier after replacing. Testing and Inspection
- Pull cover (1) off blue connector on instrument cluster.
- Press contact carrier (3) with wiring through aperture. Check whether chamber 21 is fitted with a brown ground wire. If not, insert wire supplied into chamber 21.
- Cut open wiring harness slightly behind the white connector and fit the supplied crimp connector around the brown-orange wire from chamber 24.
- Insert the additional wire from blue connector into an additional chamber on the crimp connector. Ensure that the end of cable does not protrude from the crimp connector.
- Fold over crimp connector and compress. At this point, the comb connector cuts into the core of the wire, thereby establishing contact.
