Exhaust System: Service and Repair

Disconnect connector for oxygen sensor.
Unclip the cable from the retainer.





Loosen the bolt connection of the flange on the exhaust manifold.

Installation:
Check seal, replacing if necessary.
Replace self-locking nuts. Lightly coat the thread with copper paste -CRC-.





Loosen the clamp on the exhaust bracket.

Installation:
After the installation of the exhaust system is complete, align the exhaust bracket without tension.





Loosen the exhaust bracket at the rear axle carrier.
Remove rubber ring.

Installation:
Only after the installation of the exhaust system is complete, align by pushing and screw the exhaust bracket into place.





With towbar fixture: Remove heat shield (Z).





Disconnect the rear left and right suspension.
Take off exhaust assembly in downwards direction.





Installation:
Check the position of the end pipe to the body-cutout and to the rear axle carrier.
If necessary, loosen the flanged joint and rubber suspensions; align and refasten the exhaust system.
