FRONT SEATS

NOTE: Run seat forward as far as possible. Run seat up as far as possible.





- Unscrew bolts.

Installation Note:
- Fitting corrugated disc.

Tightening Torque
- Seat to floor plate 44 Nm

- Run seat back as far as possible.

CAUTION:
- Deactivating belt-lock tightener:
- Manual Seats:
- Turn toggle 90° and detach cable upwards.





Installation Note:
- Attach cable carefully. Check for correct seating of cable.
- Seat belt lock tensioner will not work if seating is incorrect.

CAUTION:
- Deactivating belt-lock tightener:
- Power Seats:
- Turn slotted head screw until green mark in sight glass changes to red.





Installation Note:
- Turn mark to green.
- Seat belt lock tensioner will not work if at red mark!





- Lift out caps at front and remove screws.

Installation Note:
- Use corrugated washers.

Tightening Torque
- Seat to floor plate 44 Nm

NOTE: Cover the entrance to avoid damaging it while lifting out the seat.





- Power seats or seats with seat heating: Disconnect plug(s) on seat.





- Power seats or seats with seat heating: Cut through cable straps.

Sedan:





- Lift seat and unscrew screw.

Installation Note:

Tightening torque
- Safety belt on, except for B-pillar 48 Nm
- Safety belt on B-pillar 31 Nm
- Safety belt on seat 48 Nm

- Lift seat out of car.

Manual Seats:





Installation Note:
- Installation is in reverse sequence to removal: Screw in all screws, but do not tighten. Run seat forward as far as possible. Run seat forwards to 2nd detent point. Ensure that locking claws engage correctly (visual check).
- Sitting on rear seat, press seat forward firmly and release several times.
- Tighten the screws. Run seat back.
- Ensure that locking claws engage correctly (visual check).
- Tighten the screws.

Tightening torque
- Seat to floor plate 44 Nm

NOTE: To avoid grinding noise both guides (Z profiles) must always be lubricated with Kluber Isoflex Topas NB 5051.

Manual Seats:
- Stop pad must not be damaged.









Removing Power Seat with Faulty Seat Forward/Back Gearbox:
- Run seat up as far as possible.
- Lift out securing plugs at front and rear and remove plate (1).





Installation Note:
- Retainer must fit central to the counterpiece. Press on plate and install plugs.





If seat is in this position:
- Remove caps at front and unscrew left and right screws (1 and 2).

Installation Note:

Tightening Torque;
- Seat to floor plate 44 Nm
- Backrest-frame on seat frame 60 Nm

NOTE: If seat is not in position, gearboxes for longitudinal adjustment must be removed.

- Remove seat cushions.

CAUTION:
- Deactivating belt-lock tightener:
- Turn slotted head screw until green mark in sight glass changes to red.





Installation Note:
- Turn mark to green.
- Seat belt lock tensioner will not work if at red mark!





- Unscrew bolts.





- Unfasten cable connector.
- Disconnect plugs (1 and 2).
- Unlock and pull off receptacle forwards.

NOTE: Tilt seat cushion shell upwards and hold in this position (e.g. support with a hammer).





- For Drive with 3 Screws: Remove screws (1) and (2). Remove forward/back control drive towards rear.





Installation Note:
- Place flexible drive shafts (1) in gearboxes (2). Guide drive shafts into drive (3) and tighten drive screws.





For Drive with 2 Screws and 1 Rivet:
- Unscrew left and right bolts.





- Pull cross member (1) forwards slightly.
- Push seat/backrest frame upwards and pull drive shaft out of the gearboxes.





- Unscrew bolts.
- Remove gearbox (2) at entrance end.
- Pull out tunnel end gearbox (1) far enough that the seat can be pushed.

NOTE: Gearbox (1) can be removed completely when the cross member is unscrewed.

- Push seat forward as far as possible.
- Unscrew bolts.





Installation Note:
- Use corrugated washers.

Tightening torque
- Seat to floor plate 44 Nm
- Backrest-frame on seat frame 60 Nm

- Push seat back as far as possible.
- Unscrew bolts.





Installation Note:
- Use corrugated washers.

Tightening torque
- Seat to floor plate 44 Nm
- Backrest-frame on seat frame 60 Nm

NOTE: Cover the entrance to avoid damaging it while lifting out the seat.





- Disconnect plug on seat.

NOTE: Lift seat in 4-door model and unscrew screw.





Installation Note:

Tightening torque
- Seat to floor plate 44 Nm
- Backrest-frame on seat frame 60 Nm

- Lift seat out of car.
- Install gearboxes.
