Procedure

Remove rear head restraints





Pull center armrest forward, unclip tether and remove armrest.





Remove rear cushion





Remove rear backrest





Check the part number of the RPS module behind the left rear seat.

If the part number of the RPS module in the car is 61 35 8 357 698, no further action is necessary. Reinstall seat and head restraints.

If the part number of the RPS module in the car is 61 35 8 372 869, and there is a green dot on the case, no further action is necessary. Reinstall seat and head restraints.

If the part number of the RPS module in the car is 61 35 8 372 869, and there is no green dot on the case, the module must be replaced.

Make sure that the ignition switch has been in the off position for at least one minute prior to removing the control module.





Disconnect the plug (1) from the module





Remove the three mounting screws and replace the RPS module with part number 61 35 8 372 869 and new screws, part number 67 91 8 366 501.

For the purposes of this exchange, current PDC inventory of the modules are marked with a green dot.

Reinstall seat and head restraints.
