Situation

The Rollover Protection System sensors used in one week of 5/97 production may be overly sensitive, which can cause either a deployment of the roll bars for no apparent reason, or the indicator light to set.

BMW is conducting a Service Action to check the sensors in vehicles produced during this time frame, and replace any of the affected sensors.
