SUBJECT:
M52/THMR1 Harsh Upshift/Downshift Under Light Throttle Application

MODEL:
528iA produced 3/96 to 10/97

Situation:
Customer complaint of hard 1-2, 2-3 upshift, or 2-1 downshift with light throttle application.

Cause:
EGS calibration.

Correction:
Replace the EGS EPROM.

(This repair only applies to vehicles with MS41.1 engine control and EGS control module p/n 24 60 1 422 945 or 24 60 1 423 236).

Procedure:
On a customer complaint basis only, replace the EGS EPROM with p/n 24 60 7 503 650. Refer to Bulletin 24 05 95 for EPROM replacement procedure.
