Oil Pump: Service and Repair



Remove lower oil sump section.

Removal
The removal of the oil pump is described separately from the installation.





Unclip oil return line.
Detach cover for oil pump sprocket wheel.





Release oil pump sprocket wheel and remove with chain.





Unfasten oil pump screws.
Remove oil pump.





Detach unrefined oil line (1) and governing line (2) (filtered oil) from engine block.





If necessary, remove oil pressure control plunger.
Press sleeve downwards with suitable drift.

Caution: High spring pressure.

Remove circlip.

Installation
The installation of the oil pump is described separately from the removal.





Caution: Do not shear sealing ring on edge of housing.
Remove sealing ring and apply light coat of oil. Insert unrefined oil line in engine block.





Remove sealing ring and apply light coat of oil.
Insert governing line (filtered oil) in engine block.

Note: Preinstall sealing ring on governing line.





Replace sealing ring in oil pump.





Tighten cap screw firmly home in oil pump.





Fit oil pump and tighten down with nuts (1) and (2).





Fit sprocket with chain and tighten nut.
Tightening Torque, refer to Engine, Specifications.





Installation:
Adjust chain deflection (A = 10 ± 2 mm) by turning adjustment hex screw in the oil pump. Install screw and tighten down.

Note: Use screwdriver insert (bit), Allen key (long version) or similar tools with long hex head. In the procedure illustrated in this diagram, the short leg of a standard Allen key is shortened to approx. 32 mm.
