Replacing Left Or Right Rear Spring Strut Shock Absorber (air Spring Strut)

Caution!
- Pull retainer off air supply unit to ensure that accidental feedback control of the system cannot occur.
- In area of air line connections, extreme cleanliness must be ensured during removal and installation.
- Even small dirt particles can cause leakage in the system.

Please review removing rear spring strut shock absorber. Refer to Suspension Strut". Procedures

In addition:
Unfasten line on air spring strut.
Seal open connections with protective cap or adhesive tape.






Note: Do not remove the cap screw from the line! This would destroy the line!

Compress air spring strut and remove.

Installation:
Tightening Torque, refer to Automatic Suspension/Specifications. Specifications
Securing lines, refer to "Routing of pipes" at Automatic Suspension/Diagrams. Vacuum and Vapor Hose Diagrams






Note: The screw connection with toothed ring (1), cap screw (2) and assembly plug (3) must be removed from the new air spring strut.
