The new aero style side view mirrors are highly streamlined and have a low drag design (50% less wind drag than the E32 mirrors). The gap type design is similar to the E31 side view mirrors but are larger in size giving a better view of the road behind.

The colored body shell of the rear view mirror snaps onto the frame of the mirror. This greatly reduces the access time to the mirror motor for servicing.
