Programming Procedures For "3 Exchange EPROM"

Select this to program a replacement control module EPROM.

Prior to any type of programming, make sure the [1][2]DME fault memory is cleared and vehicle battery is fully charged!

1. From the function selection menu select "3 Exchange EPROM" and press the enter button.
2. Press the right arrow button.
3. Press "1 Determine EPROM" and press the enter button.
4. Press Y to confirm old EPROM is still in car.
5. Turn on ignition and press the Y button to start the automatic determination.
6. If chassis numbers compare press the Y button.
If they are different press the N button and enter the VIN manually, then press the Y button.
7. The MoDiC provides the replacement EPROM part numbers in the display.
8. Obtain the EPROM and follow Service Bulletin covering specific details pertaining to the EPROM replacement procedure.

The vehicle data will remain stored in the MoDiC as long as it is not used for any other purpose. Press the up arrow to return to the selection menu.

9. Select "Program EPROM" and press the enter button.
10. Enter the last 7 digits of the VIN and press the Y button.
11. Press the Y button to start automatic programming.
12. The MoDiC will display when the programming is complete.
