SUBJECT:
Updated Transmission Software for AGS Version 8.55

MODEL:
E38 - 74Oi/iLA produced 1/97 - 8/97
E39 - 540iA produced 3/97 - 8/97

Situation:
A CUSTOMER COMPLAINT pertaining to the following may be encountered:

^ Transmission shifts harsh on 2-3 upshifts at times.

^ Transmission shifts harsh on 3-4 upshifts at times.

Cause:
Software calibration.





Correction:
If a CUSTOMER COMPLAINT is received and the AGS Control Module software number is as indicated below the AGS control module should be reprogrammed with programming version 14.0 or higher:
