TIMING CHAIN CASE COVERS





The timing chain covers are essentially the same as the M60 engine. The only change is the type of seals used for the upper chain cover sections. A new single piece rubber seal has been developed for the M62. It is a molded seal that fits in a groove machined in the case covers.

A new special tool set is required when installing the covers on each cylinder head to ensure that the covers are properly aligned on installation.





The new tool set is PN 11 1 410. They are used in conjunction with the cylinder head covers to align the top of the upper timing case covers with the top of each cylinder head.
