Introduction

Programming updates an existing control module's software without replacing the control module and also programs a replacement basic control module. Engine and Transmission Control Module programming is performed with the MoDiC. Starting with DIS 10.0 CD software, the DIS will also be capable of programming.

The following systems are programmable at the time of this book's printing. Use the note line space in the chart to add new control system information as they are introduced.







As stated in the opening section of this manual and in the chart above, the data is stored either in an EPROM or an EEPROM depending on the system. Except for the physical differences in these two system types, the procedures for programming are virtually identical.

The following pages are specific to programming an EPROM equipped M3.X system. For Flash Technology specific differences go to page 14 of this section.
