Installing Fan Connector For Retrofit Equipment

Repair Kit IV For Vehicle Electronics 61 9 020:

- Comb connectors and the requisite accessories are provided in repair range IV.




- Cut through wire loop in wiring harness at predefined location (2) with special tool 61 9 043.




- Strip insulation off both ends of wire (3).




- Select contact sleeves to suit cross section of wire.




- Crimping together contact sleeves, refer to crimping of contact parts.




- Also crimp contact sleeve to connector cable for retrofit applications.




- Remove comb connector from repair range IV and reduce to requisite number of terminals.




- Insert cutaway comb connector (3) in special tool 61 9 041/61 9 042.




- Attach wire with contact sleeve to comb connector.




- Press pliers together and slide contact sleeve firmly home.




- Slide on additional contact sleeves.

CAUTION: Contact sleeves, once attached, must not be removed and/or reused on a comb connector.




- Slide assembled fan connector into insulation housing until it locks into place. Mount insulation housing on body.




- For applications outside the vehicle interior, the insulating housing must be sealed with silicon.
- Mount insulation housing on body.
