Instrument Cluster Low Fuel Level Input

Instrument Cluster Low Fuel Level Input:

The instrument cluster determines fuel tank level through the dual fuel level senders. When the fuel level is at approximately 4 liters, the low fuel indicator is illuminated and simultaneously a standing voltage signal in the DME is pulled low.

This input signal to DME has no control function for the detection of a misfire. However, the notation of a "Low Fuel" condition will be made in the fault memory.

If a "Cylinder Misfire" fault is stored along with the low fuel indication, it is possible that the low fuel level caused the misfire to occur. Low fuel should be considered as a possible cause during the diagnosis and troubleshooting procedures.
