Exhaust System: Service and Repair

Disconnect connector for oxygen sensor.
Unclip wires in holder.





Unscrew exhaust pipes on manifold.

Installation:
Check seal, replacing if necessary.
Replace self-locking nuts.
Coat threads with copper paste.





Unscrew exhaust pipe on transmission holder.

Installation:
Secure holder (free of tension) following installation of complete exhaust system.





Loosen the exhaust bracket at the rear axle carrier. Remove rubber ring.

Installation:
Only after the installation of the exhaust system is complete, align by pushing and tighten down the exhaust bracket.





Unscrew suspension at left and right rear.
Take off exhaust system in downward direction.





Installation:
Check position of tail pipe relative to aperture in body and to rear axle carrier.
If necessary, unfasten flange connection and rubber suspension ring, align exhaust system and resecure.
