Activation, Shift Lock
Shift Lock
The shift lock function enables blocking of the selector lever in position N to prevent inadvertent gear shifts.
Brief description of components
The shift lock function is implemented by means of an electromagnetic switch in the selector lever. If the solenoid is de-energized, the selector lever is blocked. The solenoid is activated by the SMG control module. The switching voltage corresponds approximately to the battery voltage.
The nominal coil resistance is approx. 16 Ohm. Depending on the battery voltage and temperature, the shift lock solenoid requires between 0.43 and 1.33 A.
