Wiring Harness Repairs,Using Special Tools
Caution!
Always find cause of damage (e.g. sharp-edged body parts, faulty equipment, seized mechanisms, corrosion from penetrated water, etc.) before repairing a wiring harness.
Read fault memory.
Eliminate cause of damage.
Disconnect battery negative terminal.
Caution!
Only repair a wiring harness if according to schematics no safety- relevant systems (e.g. ABS, active rear-axle kinematics, airbag, etc.) are influenced. Otherwise replace faulty wiring harness or use repair cables.

After a repair on the wiring harness, perform function check and interrogate fault memory once again. Eliminate new faults if applicable and clear fault memories.
