54 12 129 Replacing Arm (Positioner) For Sunroof Lid

Installation:
Before installing guide components, apply light coat of Renax GL1 (Fuchs) grease to guide duct.
Removing sunroof lid.







Unfasten left / right screws and remove covers (1).

IMPORTANT: Sliding/tilting sunroof cassette with a damaged thread must be replaced.

1AZ Cable cover to cassette 1.6 Nm







Run sunroof mechanism in stages (carefully) up to installation aperture and remove slide (1) on left/right from guide duct.
If applicable, run back using the emergency operator.







Unfasten left / right retainers.
Disconnect left / right linkages.







Slide mechanism right forwards until slides locate in installation aperture.
Lift sliding sections on left/right upwards to remove.







(1) Twist slide upwards.
(2) Pull sliding section upwards by lever to remove.







Run mechanism forwards.
Push back cross member.
Press down on retainer and pull out cross member completely.







Continue to run mechanism forwards until lever (arm) is in installation aperture and can be lifted out.
