Measuring Vehicle Height Setting (Z3)

Moving vehicle into normal position, refer to Specifications.





Open hood. Insert special tool 31 3 010 in left and right sides of bore (1) in wheel arch.
Determining actual ride-level height (A):
Front axle measurement from special tool to rim flange (2) a height of wheel center.
Rear axle measurement from wheel-arch lower edge to rim flange (2) at height of wheel center.
Determine mean value of each wheel after lifting and lowering vehicle body and then mean value of axle from these values.
If there is a deviation from nominal value, refer to Specifications.
Installing new coil spring, refer to section on how to calculate correct coil spring.
