Primary Ignition Monitor
ASC
A signal from KL 1 of the primary ignition circuit is provided to the ASC control unit. This signal is used as a "feedback" to check the operation of the ignition when the "Fade out" function is active. It is also used by the control unit to monitor the engine speed for ASC regulation.
CAUTION: High voltage pulses are applied to the ASC control unit with the engine running.
The signal exists as a pulsed DC voltage, that is used to trigger the ignition coil by the MCU. Because of the inductive nature of the coil, the voltage on this circuit has the potential of up to 300 volts.
The wire lead for this circuit is shielded to prevent possible induced voltages or signals into nearby parallel wires/circuits.
