Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

Replacing Ignition-Start Switch






WARNING: Refer to Air Bag Service Precautions. Service Precautions


- Remove instrument panelling at bottom left. Remove screw and take off lower section of steering-column panelling.




- Remove headless screws on both sides. Pull out switch.
- Disconnect connector.

Installation:
- Check position of ignition-start switch in relation to steering-wheel lock.
- Check position of turn-indicator lever in relation to steering wheel.
- Secure headless screws with varnish.


CAUTION: After assembly, perform a mechanical (lock cylinders) and an electrical (e.g. ignition, radio etc.) function check.
