Removing and Installing Replacement Transmission

Drain off automatic transmission fluid.

Recycling:
Catch and dispose of escaping transmission fluid.
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.

Caution! Before installing replacement transmission, Always flush oil cooler with lines.

Remove and install transmission, refer to Removing and Installing Automatic Transmission.

Note:
Automatic transmission is supplied filled with transmission fluid.

Note:
After completion of work, check transmission fluid level.

Caution! Use only the approved automatic transmission fluid in this automatic transmission.





Convert transportation lock (1).

Caution! After removing transportation lock: Protect torque converter from slipping out.






Convert lever (2) and retaining bracket (3).
Convert exhaust suspension.
Convert all cable holders.
Remove transfer case.
