The BIT basic Interface Telephone is equipped with diagnostic capabilities and a fault code memory.

Functions
The Siemens S10 is connected to the I/K-bus via the Basic Interface Telephone . This enables operation via the on-board monitor, MID and multifunction steering wheel . Hands-free operation is conducted via a microphone and double coil speaker . The output of other sources is interrupted by the mute circuit . Remote data or fax transmission is also possible with a separate connection .

Receiving and passing on special SMS messages:

Text display of SMS messages in on-board monitor and MID

Callback to SMS sender

Storing telephone list on SIM card

Transferring navigation destinations to vehicle

Programming independent park heating and ventilation timer

Transferring vehicle position to control center (with navigation system only)
