A4S 270R
The A4S 270R transmission is identical in mechanical function and component layout as the A4S 310R.
The change to the 270R designation is the result of design changes of the Ravigneaux planetary gear set which modified the output ratios as well as reducing it's torque rating.
All A4S 270R transmissions are controlled by an 88 pin control module.
Power stage control of the valve body solenoids was changed from switched power to switched ground.
Additionally, the 528i E39 is equipped with an AGS version of the TCM which added four wheel speed input signals to the system.
