LUBRICATION SYSTEM





The oil supply system receives only minor changes for the M62. The oil pump is now made from cast aluminum (previously made from magnesium). The operation remains the same as the M60. For all M62 equipped vehicles, the oil filter location is moved from the engine to the inner fender well mounting on the driver's side of the engine compartment as first seen on the M60 equipped E38.

The oil capacities remain the same as the M60.

^ 7.5 liters including one liter for the filter.

^ The nominal maximum oil pressure is 4.3 to 4.8 bar.
