SUBJECT
Side Windows do not Return to the "UP" Position

MODEL
E46 3 Series coupe/convertible (323Ci, 323Cic, 325Ci, 325Cic, 328Ci, 330Ci, 330Cic, M3)

SITUATION
The situation occurs after the following sequence of events:

1. The driver/passenger window(s) are closed using either:

a. Comfort Close (using the door lock)

b. The convertible top switch

c. The window switch(s), but not using "one-touch".

2. The closing switch is released before the window(s) reach their full "up" position (less that 15 mm from the full up position).

3. The door is opened (the window drops normally - approx 10 mm).

4. The door is closed, and the window remains in its dropped position.

CAUSE
The General Module must recognize a full "Up" position with the door closed for the window raising feature to work correctly. This is normal vehicle operation.

CORRECTION
In case of customer complaint, demonstrate to the customer how the situation occurs, and recommend that to avoid this problem, the customer ensures that the windows are fully closed. Do not replace any parts.
