SUBJECT:
Headlight Leveling Control (LWR) Malfunction

MODEL:
E46 (3 Series) - 4WD Vehicles with Xenon (Option SA522)

Situation:
After recoding the LSZ with DIS CD 22.0, or older version, the automatic headlight leveling control (LWR) regulates the headlights in the wrong direction. The problem did not occur prior to recoding. The problem only affects 4WD vehicles with Xenon.

Cause:
Coding data error in DIS CD versions 22.0 and older

Information:
Do not recode the LSZ with CD 22.0 and older.
Where a module replacement is required, a precoded module (direct ship from Germany) must be ordered using P/N 61 31 6 907 948.

The problem will be corrected with the release of DIS CD 23.0.
