SUBJECT:
TURN SIGNAL INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT WORK AFTER REPLACING THE PRINTED CIRCUIT-171 SERIES

When an early style printed circuit board marked "B" is replaced with the new style marked "A", the turn signal indicator light will not operate. This is due to the fact that the voltage is not supplied to the turn signal indicator light by the new printed circuit. A jumper wire must be added to allow voltage to operate the turn signal indicator light as outlined below:

1. Remove the printed circuit. Locate the black/white wire in the number 8 terminal of the 8 prong plug to the printed circuit.

2. Cut the black/white wire half-way between the 8 prong plug and the wire harness. Splice in an 18 inch length of .75 mm wire which will reconnect both ends.

3. CAREFULLY, remove the number 8 terminal connector from the 8 prong plug using a tool similar to an "ice pick".

4. Insert the connector of the black/white wire into the number 10 terminal of the 14 prong plug.

5. Should it ever become necessary in the future to install an early style printed circuit marked "B", the black/white wire connector can be similarily removed from the number 10 terminal of the 14 prong plug and reinserted into the number 8 terminal of the B prong plug.
