SUBJECT

FC 245 and 246 Not Displayed on the DIS/Modic when using CD24/24.1

MODEL

E46 3 Series with M54 E39 5 Series with M54

SITUATION

The "check engine "light is illuminated but no faults are displayed on the DIS/Modic (CD24 or CD24.1) after performing the DME "short test".

CAUSE

DIS software error

CORRECTION

1. Manually ID the vehicle as a Z3 2.5 roadster with an M54 and perform the DME short test.

2. Fault codes 245 (f5) and 246 (f6) will now be displayed.
