Replacing Drive Unit For Head Restraint Adjustment
Removing And Installing/Replacing Drive Unit For Head Restraint Adjustment (comfort Seat, Backrest Completely Removed)
Remove backrest cover with padding.
Unlock plug (1) and remove.
Pull backrest adjustment shaft (1) out of backrest adjustment gearing (2) and drive unit for head restraint adjustment (3).
Remove retainers.
Remove backrest adjustment gearing (1) and drive unit for head restraint adjustment (2).
A:
Screw in output spindle (1) up to stop (2) and then screw back 1 turn.
B:
Push backrest adjustment gearing (3) onto backrest frame.
If necessary, press backrest frame down a little.
Fit retainers.
Turn output spindle (1) until backrest adjustment gearing (2) can be pushed on without tension (do not press backrest frame down under any circumstances).
If necessary, readjust with backrest adjustment shaft.
Fit retainers.
Insert backrest adjustment shaft (1) into backrest adjustment gearing (2) (other end with square section (3) is not fitted yet).
Place backrest frame on a flat surface. Measure distance (X) on left and right.
Permitted deviation on left and right sides: max. 2 mm.
If necessary, adjust backrest adjustment gearing with square section of backrest adjustment shaft.
Insert backrest adjustment shaft (1) into drive unit for head restraint adjustment (3).
Installation:
Backrest adjustment shaft must not protrude over sheet metal fold (risk of damage).
If necessary, turn backrest adjustment shaft (1) minimally by hand until square section fits into drive unit for head restraint adjustment (3).
