- Damaged threads in engine supports may be repaired with Helicoil thread inserts. Install Helicoil thread inserts so that they are flush with original thread.

Steering gear:
Steering gear could be damaged from impact forces if a vehicle is involved in an accident or operated in conditions similar to an accident. In the interests of safety, always comply with factory specifications.

Track rod joint:
For an evaluation of wear on ball joints, refer to Technical Service Bulletins.

Servotronic:
Troubleshooting on electronic components, refer to BMW Diagnosis Program.

Airbag:
Troubleshooting with BMW Diagnosis Program.

Electric Steering Column Adjustment:
Troubleshooting on electronic components, refer to BMW Diagnosis Program.

Vehicle with Interlock-System:
If one component of the Interlock system was removed or installed or if the installation position of the Interlock cable is changed, a function check must be performed. Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.
